He kissed her back! This wasn't the time to be elated about it but here she was, nearly doing cartwheels in her head. But before Wren could say anything to the last part there was the calvary. The Late Calvary.
"Where the hell have you been?" Wren snarled at the four men with guns out and trained at her. She stepped purposefully in between them and Kim, acting as a shield. One of them she vaguely recognized but right now, she didn't care. She didn't even care about the weapons aimed she didn't budge an inch. "You let him get hurt and deal with these idiots all alone and you think you should have the brass to come in here like some big hero? My father would have handed all your asses on a platter!"
That gave them pause. Who was this girl? A couple glanced at each other, believing they didn't have the proper intel. The tall one with the earring brazenly stepped forward. "You need to step away from Khun Kim, miss." And once her arm was touched, she exploded. Her heel stomped onto the bulk of his foot, making him double over, giving her the opportunity to knee him in the groin for all he was worth. And then three hammers cocked on the remaining weapons.
She didn't stop there, taking a threatening step at them. "You're pathetic. A little girl just took out one of you--" okay, not really but that wasn't the point. "And you're going to shoot me? Do something useful and clean up this mess you let happen. Get the car and you're taking us to whatever safe place is out there." They all blinked at her. Wren growled, feeling her rage spark something within her, the tingling spreading out to her fingertips. And she still remained between them and Kim, staring them down as if they were confused horses. When her voice dropped, they started to lower their weapons. "Move. Now. Before. I. Move. You." No fear. She had no fear for these men who came too late to help. One started towards her again and she faced him, growling. "Touch me and you'll wish I clocked your balls."
