To say the past couple of months had been loud would be a fucking understatement. Of course not long after getting kicked out of the City, thankfully together, they managed to get Maggie knocked up.

That wasn't the plan, but there is was.

And there was a lil girl.

Who had colic, at least according to Maggie.


It was hard on him, triple as hard on her so he soldiered on. Doing what he could in between running to get them established, or at least something to get them in something more comfortable for him and Maggie.

But there was neighbor girl, prolly shy of fifteen that took shine to Anna and this weekend she volunteered to take her off the couple's hands for a night or two.

"Fuck. Kids, I knew it wasn't all baby pictures and balloons but god damn." As he just fell on the couch.

When they were kicked out of the City, Maggie for those moments between here and there had thought well, this is it. Suspecting she would forget her life as she had come to know it in the city, never see Ace or any of ther others she had grown to love again. She thought she'd end up over dosed in a gutter some where between New Kansas and New York.

When she came to else where and seen him there there was a whirl of emotions that lead to a lot of sex, which lead to the what the fucks being yelled from her lips as she sat in the bathroom with a shopping bag full of different tests all giving that positive. Though that feeling didn't last very long, and before she knew it there was this beautiful baby girl. This child had her mother wrapped around her tiny little finger the moment she had been placed into her arms. That didn't change even as the poor girl came down with colic and would spend all day and night screaming her tiny little lungs out.

Though their little Anna Banana was getting better the both of them were just worn ragged. So when that girl offered to take Anna for a little while Maggie almost started to cry at the thought of some needed rest and some time with Ace.

" I couldn't tolerate milk when I was her age either, I bet that is what it is." spoken from the other room. Hearing the sound of him hitting the couch she chuckled stepping out in one of her black satin robes that she hadn't worn since before the baby was born. She appreciated how much he had been working hard to help her with the baby and everything he had been doing in general. " Want a back massage?"

"Might be, i don't know." He tossed his hair back and sat up. "Nah, you just perch up here on my lap. If anyone deserves a massage it is you."

He was old school like that. Though he was still a him. "Lose the robe though."

There was a soft laugh from her as she shrugged the robe off and let it fall to the floor walking over to him.

It was still odd to her how content she felt with their little set up, their little family. " I am just happy to have what we have. I couldn't have asked for a better partner in life ya know." she said sitting on his lip and leaning back wrapping her arms around his neck. " I love you and appreciate how hard you've been working and how patient you've been in the disaster zone that has been me lately." wiggling her hips in that slow teasing way against him.

He still wasn't any good at taking a compliment, letting his hands work the small of her back for now.

"Eh, its worth it. Got to take care of you and the kid" A bit of a grin he added. "'Sides I'm used to dealing with disasters."

Honestly he was just enjoying her on his lap. After she got pregnant that kinda went away and hadn't really come back. But like he said a moment before, it was worth it.

Mostly because as she got bigger this or that bothered her and then after a while she was sure she would squish the shit out of Ace if she tried to sit on him.

" We're in it together. Ride or die baby." she said chuckling " At least these are more diaper blow outs, what's that smell? and oh god make the screaming stop types of disasters these days."

She leaned forward just a bit as he worked on the small of her back, juggling a kiddo pretty much 24/7 the last few days had done a number on those poor muscles. " I missed this, ya know."

"Well riding is what got you knocked up." He looked thoughtful "Or bent over, I don't know for sure."

A soft laugh. "Some days I'd rather the latter. But no, it is kinda cool. Still getting my head around all of it." His fingers were strong and they worked closer to her spine and moved up slightly and reversing away from it.

"Yea, me too. Once this lil slice of hell passes, hopefully it'll won't be once is a blue moon thing."
