Maggie should have expected that not only was it going to rain, but the rain would come down in sheets. It was spring time, close to summer but not quite there yet. She had been caught on foot and her black shirt and jeans were soaked. She looked like a drowned rat skittering from one form of cover to another before just giving up and just walking in the rain. Another day another dollar.

Sure she had a castle that was hers near by, that was hers outright, but she chose to live like a starving artist in a quarter house apartment and pay rent each month. She walked the two flights of wooden steps to the apartment with the red door that had worn black hardware and chipping paint. She paused when she found her door had been jimmied open it was open just a crack. She gave a glance around then slowly pulled her gun from the holster at her ribs and pushed the door open slowly.

If anything, Kohl could say that the breaking in period of the security unit was a better test of patience than anything else. Six weeks of dealing with men, the recruits and the seniors with nothing better to do than be the gossip mill. Namely, Kohl had become the wheel of the gossip mill. Nearly every test he excelled at and Chan was consistently altering the man's training to make it challenging, which was on occasion, hit and miss. He kept to himself even though he was rooming in with Arm. His Thai was abyssmal while it was well known that his daughter might as well have been a native with how well she spoke it. No one really knew why he was here, outside of the main family and Chan's knowledge. And everyone was intrigued by him.

He didn't do the gym showers. He kept to himself. Commadre seemed to be a foreign concept for him. He rarely said more than two words to Arm in their rooms!

That all seemed to change when the pool test came about. First was timed laps, and then the second half was escaping from the ropes while underwater. The dozen and a half recruits (down from nearly 36) were there in skin tight shorts, waiting for the lap qualifications to start. It was Kohl that came in with shorter swim briefs and every muscle defined. All of his ink was on display then which was cause for a buzz considering some people were questioning his loyalty. They looked like he was actually part of another family.

And the fact he had been hiding all that muscling all along was cause for some crushes and some jealousy across the board. Kohl ignored the looks and listened to the instructor and then nodded at his specific instructions. He was tasked to go double the length in 1.5 of the time allotted. Fine by him.

That was probably another thing that either pissed off the other men or made them more infatuated with Kohl: He simply accepted the instructions and planned on accomplishing them. Not once did Kohl ever voice uncertainly about completing a task.

That was a problem with these two. Everything in the world was placed in a higher regard than their own well being, not just physically, but mentally too. In fact some might say the mental part was more so. Porsche, he had that hot head that would eventually lead to him speaking up about shit bothering him, but Kinn would hold his silence behind a poker face.

Porsche's eyes went to Kinn's hand holding the cigarette. It was trembling, that made Porsche's heart ache a little. Okay, a lot. Porsche wrapped his arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug. " It's okay to get upset about it. It's just me here. Let some of it out. I got you."

There were still some days when Wren wasn't sure which way was up.  And that was the absolute best feeling, right now, never in her wildest dreams did she think she would find someone here in Thailand. She wasn't really looking, anyway, with most of the guys around here turning her all the way off with commenting on how alluring and 'exotic' she was being around here.  Ugh.  So fucking gross.

Besides, she was almost done with her studies and was cranking out her senior year.  Lately, it had been nothing but study, study, study.  Kimhan had been an absolute angel with it all. And she really meant that. It shouldn't have been that big of a surprise, considering he had graduated a couple of years before her, but still.  He provided the best backdrop of acoustic guitar and a word or two of encouragement when her brain was starting to leak out of her ears.  Their beginnings had been distinctly less than a fairy tale process, but right now, everything was pretty solid.  Okay, so there had been that one misshap where those goons had tried to take him out, but he stopped them.  But then his goons mistook her for a target and then... That was all they wrote.  He tried pushing her away, she said she loved him despite him being a stupid idiot, and then he fucked her against the wall of the safehouse they were dumped in.  Poetic, really.

Since then, they had been contemplating living places, but nothing solid was agreed upon.  It was her final year (honestly, it was two weeks, but Wren could feel years falling off her life), and Kim decided then that she should meet his brothers.  They were his only family left, really, and he didn't want her rumored to be a 'dirty little secret.'  Wren felt she only said it as a joke to get her mind off that one math equation that was stabbing her in the brain but she toed up to his prank and accepted.  Why not?  She had met a few of his bodyguards (useless things) and was fully aware that he was mafia.  It never scared her. After all, he knew about her magical tendencies and accepted them.  Which... come to think of it, was a little weird.  His face scrunched up when she confessed and he looked a little crosseyed before muttering, "of course you are." and just left it at that. Mysterious.

Having gotten the details of the dinner plans and an apology that he couldn't pick her up personally, but would have a car ready for her, Wren decided on a mandarin floral print dress for the occasion with her hair done up in hair pins just for her own peace of mind that she had a tiny bit of protection on her, complete with kitten heels and a small clutch.  The place the car brought her to was massive and she craned her neck all the way up to look at the skyscraper hotel.

"Miss Starfyr," the voice was smooth and mildy accented.  It was a middle-aged man who bowed to her in greeting.  "Mr Kim is in the midst of a meeting and asked that I escort you to the family dining hall."

"Oh!"  She blinked once and then offered a smile.  He was speaking in English? Maybe they thought she didn't know any Thai because she didn't look Thai?  "Thank you very much.  I appreciate it."  Flawless Thai.  It made the man pause just a heartbeat before straightening from his bow.  What she didn't provide was the wai.  That little bit of culture still confused her sometimes.  He was much older than her, so the respect should be given but he was an employee so he was doing his job so.....

The hesitation was hidden behind her smile as she bowed her head as the door was opened for her.  Wren walked through and slowed her steps to follow the man's lead to take her wherever she needed to be.  In the meantime, she could feel the hairs on the back of her neck prickle as she felt like she was walking into the lion's den.  Sure, the place was opulent, but why should she be feeling on edge?

The song was loud, obnoxiously off key and the songster hadn't stopped for the last two hours. One might wonder just whom the 'artist' of the onslaught of ear torture would be? Porsche. Yes, darling Porsche. Worst. Captive. Ever. He was chained to a cement wall in a basement, shirtless and obviously banged up from fighting. On the floor was a half circle in yellow chalk marking just how far he could reach in those chains. They'd learned the hard way that getting with in striking range of this guy was bad news.

They had him there for three days now. Mean while tales of his betrayal being spread like wild fire. Kinn had been the first that the minor family's Vegas had come to, his face bruised and bloodied. Telling Kinn he had over heard Porsche on the phone with someone, saying that Kinn who was showing more than friendly interest in Porsche had taken the bait and soon he would be able to take down the Thai mafia in one move. it was a lie of course but if they wanted to get their mitts on things Porsche and Kinn needed to be at odds. Kinn distracted by his love interest stabbing him in the back then taking off would give them the time needed to get a plan in motion. That brought Porsche here, to his lovely accommodations of cinder block walls, cold floors and when h annoyed them really good, sprays with the hose of ice water.

" We wouldn't need to get close to just shoot him." One of the guards in the hallway said to the other two standing by with him. " The bastard told me he was a vegetarian and it was against his religion to eat meat." the third man nodded " Then told me that he was on a carnivore diet and would shit all over the place eating vegetables. Why are we keeping this punk alive again?" the first man spoke up again, " Because if this asshole turns up dead, do you know what Vegas will do to us for messing up his plans?" all three groaned in misery as Porsche started all over again with the singing.

That night she spent the entire night hugging his lap. Perhaps Kinn wasn't the only one not totally at ease and this was her assurance that if a wrong move was made it wouldn't be done with out waking her. It was a bonus that even with the events that had happened he smelled so good.

When she woke the next morning, she very carefully untangled herself from him. Extra gently as not to wake him. She straightened the robe so that she wasn't hanging out all over the place and slipped out of the bed. She stood by his side of the bed a moment to watch him sleep. She wasn't 100 percent but she was miles better than she had been the night before. She hadn't died, and that was because of this man. While he slept she brought her hand up gentle fingers moving hair out of his face.

Maggie had no clue what would happen next out of all of this. What she did know is there was a pull to this man, something she couldn't explain. Not that it would make sense even if she tried. She wasn't sure just how, but there was this nagging voice telling her that this whole incident and the events that followed had changed her life forever. Slowly she leaned in, her eyes not moving from watching him sleeping, carefully she pressed her lips to his in the softest of kisses. If nothing else, she would be able to take the way his lips felt against hers with her.

It was going on a month and Wren was done.  Done with waiting, done with worrying, just done.  And they knew she was done when she came to the compound with the two children in tow, her eyes sharp silver as she glared at every security guard who bowed before her, unable to meet her scrutiny.  They all failed her.  Again.  And now she was going to take things into her own hands and show them all how a Starfyr handled it.

While she wasn't religious, she did resonate with Buddhism. There were certain holidays where it was almost mandated that there were a few holidays that were observed by the family for appearances. Wren normally didn't do much considering Kim didn't but when Porsche himself asked her to attend this one ceremony, she felt it was time to start bridging the gap between families with a small step. There was even more convincing to have Kim join her, along with whatever security he wanted which was a ton of people. She didn't blame him one bit. Hawke would be there with them, which helped immensely. That was probably going to be the most surprising thing of all: Kinn's men seeing Hawke in his usual garb. While she wasn't around for the funeral, she could only imagine what they would look like to see Hawke in a sarong, sandals for the public, and leather bands around muscles for decoration.

Having Hawke and Roo around for a year had been awesome. The little estate that they had was well kept, Anu had uncles from his mother's side doting on him, and Kim had grown further out of that cloistered shell his father and imprisoned him in. Repairs to the Theerapanyakul brothers were well on their way to healing and while there was no expected immediate fix to the underworld, there had been marked improvements with Kinn actively seeking out the advice of his brothers from time to time. When Roo and Hawke had returned back to Earthmountain, there had been a legitimate funk around the estates that Wren knew would last for a while, so she started setting up plans to go visit that side of the family for a season. It was more work than usual, considering the animals needed to be cared for as well as Kim's fans, so extra tours needed to happen before going 'off the grid,' so to speak. The plan was to do a quick tour state side with then a hiatus at her parents' home. Of course, there wouldn't be any way to contact them for the fall season so they had to forwarn Kinn about that.

Naturally, Khun was beside himself because he would miss his nibling growing up for three to six months. And no, he wasn't going to go on tour with them.

Once that was all settled, they had to make appearances and fly to California instead of take the simpler and faster route by unicorn. After a tour of performances on the West Coast, it was a quick jaunt to the East Coast for some concerts there and then they could go and relax a couple weeks at the Starfyr estate and give Anu the chance to decompress before moving on to the next leg of their travels.

Wren was all for relaxing at her parents' place even if sleeping arrangements originally going to be cramped. Finding out that her parents had outfitted her room with a larger bed for them made it all the easier. While resting from the whirlwind of concert dates, Wren had the time to adjust their supplies for the mountain and set up the 'calendar' they would need to determine when it was time to go home. As time moved differently between the dimensions, they needed to be aware of when they should return to avoid a mass panic, both by brothers and a fanbase.

"Are you excited? You'll get to see your boyfriends again," Wren murmured smugly as she kept the clothing choices simple and light. No doubt Kim was going to bring his guitar and Wren chose some simple toys for Anu even though she was certain that he would be more than occupied with new sights and sounds and people. "You can impress them all over again with your grasp of the language, too." That was also something they had been working on for the better part of the past two years.

When the dawn broke and her and the small group of others set out to hunt down some herbs and maybe some game large enough to feed the tribe Lyra did not add being eaten by something on that list. As we all know life rarely if ever goes to plan.

Usually she would be exempt from the rotation of people chosen to go on the hunt, she was one of only a hand full with the abilities needed to heal. Healers were notoriously 'squishy' in battle as their skill lay with giving life and recovering. However this time she had gone because they were short a person. It would get her off the grounds for a while and be something she could learn off of. They weren't heading to an area that was active with things to be aware of on the danger scale anyway.

It was a big shock to everyone in the party when they were ambushed by creatures, and an even bigger shock when one of them tore into party members like they were nothing but shreds of paper and made off with Lyra. It had already done her harm and had her in the clutches of it's jaw. She was certain she was done for and then she blacked out.

She didn't die though and no one was more shocked than she herself when she had actually came to. Pale blue eyes blinking rapidly trying to clear blood and dirt so she could see. There was pain, but she couldn't focus on it even though the injuries burned as though acid had been spilled on them and her muscles bruised and battered, whined and locked up in protest of movement.

It was desolate, the land around her it looked like someone had bombed the place and what was left was pretty bereft of anything even remotely livable. She had to get up, some way some how and make her way back to the grounds in which she and her tribe lived. First she would have to find some coverage, it couldn't all be gone. Could it?

Wren, along with all of her other duties of being a new mother, animal caretaker and manager for her husband, had started both Hawke and Roo on learning Thai. The linguist in her was mentally going over how the language started and why sounds were made the way they were but outwardly, she was simply starting with nouns and phrases going about daily life. It was unconscious on her part to add in wais where appropriate and that part had to be explained fully, but easily picked up by Roo and Hawke considering Faunlyn used body language to alter meanings of words as well. Two weeks in, he decided to show off his progress to Kim. Any why wouldn't he? Kim had been taking Faunlyn lessons as well, which were probably more difficult to master considering the added complexity of the body.

He found Kim in the music room, going through vocal exercises. His voice wasn't quite as robust as it had been before the birth of Anu, but given his muscles had been so damaged, it wasn't surprising. Once Kim had a moment to acknowledge him, he started, the tones not quite perfect but more than passable as he spoke carefully. "Swaddee, Wan ni pen ngi bang," there was a pause before it dawned on him. "Krub!" [[Blessings, how was your day --polite tone.]] Satisfied that he had gotten the phrase right, he switched to English. "That is the proper way to say it, yes?"

And there he sat, bare-chested, wearing one of the colorful Thai sarongs just because he liked the pattern and it was 'in style' here for the culture. A big grin sat on his face waiting to see what Kim thought of his progress so far.

After three months and clearance about his diaphragm, Kim was due in for light work at the office.  Understandably, he didn't want to leave Wren and Anurak at home given what happened the last time.  Arista and Kohl had returned to their home after a few weeks but Roo and Hawke remained, mostly for Hawke's peace of mind that his sister and her family were safe and protected.  And he also wanted to make certain there was enough help around the property so that Wren could concentrate on the baby and not other trivial things.

With kisses and reassurance, Wren bid her husband a good day at work and she would have the cell on standby in case anything happened.  She too was nervous but did her best not to show it because she didn't want Kim to suddenly go into protection mode and call the whole thing off.

Face timing at lunch went without a hitch with Wren being dozy because Anu was taking in his lunch as well. It was about an hour after that call that weird things happened.  First was Wren sitting on the front porch in the shade with the baby in the bounce bed.  Watching the leaves on the trees had become a favorite pastime for the child and Wren was going to keep him outside as often as possible, singing songs or telling stories to him.  Hawke was with her as was Roo, listening and joining in with the narrations.  Roo even pulled out his flute to try a few notes but it seemed like Anu was more into his father's music as he started to whine.  Wren could only smile and soothe Roo's pretend 'hurt feelings' as she lifted the baby out of the bouncer bed to cuddle.  That was when Hawke stood and looked out over to the long driveway, eying the dust plume.  "Are you expecting someone?" he asked, his voice low and words in faunlyn.

"No," Wren responded in turn, also looking at the plume.  "Roo, take the baby inside.  The guest room."  She was already opening the door and pulling out the hand gun out of the table drawer and checked the safety.  After dealing with Korn bullshit, she did learn how to use one under her father's and then Kim's guidance but it was more for warning people off than actually shooting them.  She still hesitated.  Hawke hadn't moved from his position at the top of the porch stairs, his entire body still.  "And call Kim," Wren added, handing Roo her phone.  "We're okay, but not expecting people here and his brothers know not to stop by unannounced."
In fact, that was the only reason why she knew that whoever was driving up wasn't family.  Or delivery considering they kept track of their package orders.  Wren moved to stand beside Hawke, both of them murmuring to each other about who could possibly be coming.  Her frown deepened as she didn't recognize the car rolling up and she moved only slightly closer to Hawke's side.  Without taking his eyes off the car, he wound his arm around her shoulders to give a comforting squeeze.  "You both are safe," he murmured low in Faunlyn.  "Breathe and let the fear roll off like water.  There is only one."

She tried to follow her brother's instructions but it wasn't much help.  After all, Kim hadn't been to work for this very reason.  Was someone trying something again?  The person who exited the driver's side was a woman, dressed in smart business attire, hair in a pony to keep off the back of her neck.  Wren tilted her head slightly, thinking she might be familiar.  Was it a secretary from Kinn's hotel?

"Are you lost?"  Wren called out, not breaking her gaze.  The woman looked almost comfortable here.  Actually, she was deceptively comfortable.

"I hope not," the stranger called back with a smile.  "This is Kimhan Theerapanyakul's residence, correct?"

"Perhaps," Wren said non committedly, her eyes searching for a weapon.  "Who's come to ask?  All business inquiries happen in the city in his office."

"All of them?  But you're here."  The woman remained on the ground at the foot of the steps when Hawke shifted his stance.  "You're his lovely wife, aren't you?"

Wren didn't answer that.  "I will ask this one more time:  Who has come to ask?"

"I know you wouldn't recognize me, dear.  That's alright.  I've been out of the picture way too long.  For that, I will accept the punishments of my children estranging me."  There was a pause as she waited a moment.  "I'm Kimhan's mother, Malai."

That reveal shocked Wren and confused Hawke, picking up enough words to comprehend.  He spoke in English now.  "Did he not say she was dead?"  Wren nodded.  "And now she is not?"  Wren glanced at her brother and lifted her shoulder slightly.  She didn't know.

"Their father insisted I needed to leave so that the boys could survive in the world they were born into," Malai began, looking saddened by that fact.  "I thought it was for their own good and that was my mistake.  And trying to get the upper hand on Korn is... not easy."

"He's dead," Wren answered flatly, not certain if she should trust this woman.  She hadn't lied yet, which was comforting and concerning at the same time.  It seemed more and more likely that the matriarch did rise from the grave.  "He's been dead."

"So I heard.  At great peril to Kimhan."

"And everyone else."  Wren wasn't backing down, but she wasn't escalating it, either.  There was a pregnant silence between them.

"Your Thai is very good," Malai started, working to change the subject.

"Thank you," Wren responded, not offering anything else.

A small smile crept on Malai's face.  It was genuine and not malicious.  "Does your guardian know much?"

"My brother is learning.  But today isn't a lesson day."  Another long silence.  Wren wasn't good with that part.  "Ms Theerapanyakul.  Why are you here?  If you are who you say you are?"

"Restitution," Malai answered with a somewhat remorseful tone and expression.  "I've missed out on so much, and I should have dealt with Kornwit long before it got this bad-before Tankhun decided to hide in delusions, before Anakinn felt the weight of world on his shoulders, before Kimhan decided that being as far away from the family as possible was the best way to save himself.  I'm happy he found you, and he found happiness.  And I thought that starting here would be the best way to begin the reparations."

Wren stood there for a long time, watching the woman, studying everything about her.  Was she genuine? Was she trying to get in to cause harm?  Could she be trusted?  Before Wren could finish her internal study, she heard the tell tale cry of her son finally fed up with whatever was happening.  And that perked Malai's attention.  Wren had to make a decision quick.

"Hawke, would you mind bringing Malai into the sun room? I will be there with you in a moment."  She trusted Hawke to keep Malai under control should she get out of hand but she didn't think that anything would happen.  There were no warning bells in her head, just caution.  And the one 'sun stone.' that was hanging on the porch was still a lovely amber color.  No danger.

Leaving her brother to his task, she hurried into the guest room as the insistent wails became louder and louder.  Roo looked worried, pacing with the child in one arm and trying to speak into the phone at the same time.  Wren came to the rescue, reaching for the baby first and offering Roo a comforting smile.  "I think it'll be okay. Let me have the phone."

There was Kim's voice, cold and worried, all business at this time.  "Love, we're safe.  No one is here to take us.  But I need you to come home.  Don't race or get into an accident."  She paused, then sighed.  "Someone is here claiming to be your mother.  And she's not lying.  I see nothing that would say she is."

The one thing Kim couldn't avoid was the Music Gala Awards. Luckily, Anurak was six months old at the time and Kim had more than healed from his 'father's funeral.' Which meant that they needed to prepare for this new shing ding and public appearance. Setting up child care for that evening wasn't terribly difficult, nor was finding appropriate clothing to match the dress codes. Wren was still sporting some baby weight which she didn't care about but knew it was likely the media would go apeshit over.

Choosing something along the lines of lilac and with a shawl for her shoulders, her go-to for jewelry were the gold pearl set, and her hair was done up in ringlets. Both of their phones would be on only for the nanny who was watching the baby, their room securely watched by others they trusted. Kim was supposed to sing a number on stage so he was already decked out in the appropriate attire and Wren could only smile and shake her head. "Any more feathers and you'll go airborne in the stiff breeze," she teased, brushing one of the whispy feathers away from his face. "You look handsome in anything, though. Or nothing at all." The song was going to be a cover and a subtle message to his fans that WiK's heart had been secured by someone else. He could play the part of a 'what if,' but no more than that. Which meant Wren had to be decked out with a mic, too. She had never sung in front of an audience like this and rehearsals had been a test of her patience and Anu's patience as well. Hell, there were times she sang and worked the choreography with the baby on her hip, one arm secure around him through the entire process.

But regardless of what she felt in terms of nerves, she was ready to show the world who her man was and how much she adored him.

The house was perfect as the pasture and the space for two horses. One could never have just one horse, of course. So far, she had picked up two Thai ponies and that was a trip in of itself. There had been haggling, a demand of proper DNA screening and government registration (apparently, the government was interested in preserving the breed and what better way than to make a hobby of it!) It was cleared by Kim considering his background and the breeding couple was living on their land, spoiled rotten. They were smaller than what she was accustomed to riding but it didn't matter to her. Having them here was what mattered and it wasn't like she could ride for the time being, anyway: her belly was huge and her balance was out of kilter daily. The little goat who wanted to play, didn't help much, either.

It had taken some work to get the land ready but Kim had that all under control. And Wren was planning the Thai wedding there (without elephants she kept teasing her fiance about) Dandilion Estates boasted over 12 acres of land, fit for ten ponies if she wanted, but she figured any foals would be sold to continue the successful breeding program. Her parents visited briefly once the couple had moved in, setting up their own housewarming gifts of protection wards and warnings. Rutilated quartz had been used for the wards not only to cleanse unsavory past experiences but to follow with the theme of the place: Bright yellows and whites. There were also other stones tucked away for safe keeping in certain trees in case they needed help quickly. Those stones were connected to her parents and family, just in case. One could never be too careful when marrying the son of a famous Mafia man.

Even with everything in place, it couldn't protect them from everything. Wren, who stayed home this time to finish re-arranging the nursery to her liking, was alone, with 3 weeks to go in her pregnancy and doing little more than sitting, folding up baby clothes. She fought against the nagging worry that something wasn't right--nothing told her that there was anything that was wrong. After learning the gender of the baby, they decided to keep it a secret for themselves to keep Korn out of their business. In fact, it was imperative. If Korn ever found out...

Somehow, someway, he did. And when Kim returned home, he came home to a quiet house, no Wren, the ponies nervous but not really freaking out. And it seemed like there was nothing to indicate that she had left involuntarily with the exception that the house felt wrong and one of those crystals were bright red instead of clear and yellow.

He had been seeing Wren for a few months now, bit by bit the shallow talking had become deeper and deeper. As much as he didn't want to at first more and more he was realizing just how much he did enjoy her company. The way she smiled, her hair falling nto her face. She was a stunning person. This particular night he'd picked her up like he often did when they were going to spend time together. He asked her to dress nicely for this particular date, he had rented out the entire restaurant of one of the nicest places in the city.

It was more so they could talk and enjoy a conversation with out the the noise of others around them. Just the staff that was usually there. When she had asked where the bathroom was he pointed it out and politely stood as she left the table to head that way. He had just barely ordered drinks when all hell broke loose.

The fight left the table a wreck and much of the area where they were seated. Kim stood alone the bloodied forms of five men laying strewn across every which way. He leaned down to pick up a napkin to wipe blood from the corner of his own mouth and was wiping blood off his knuckles. This... this would be the end of things. He was as scared as he had ever been, this had to end. he had to let her go.

The commotion at school was insane. Worse than insane! Wren had no idea what was going on at first but the crowd of people who gathered in the cafeteria, screaming someone's name warned her that she did not want to be there. As she walked by, she slowed down, looking in the same direction as everyone else, spotting the set up stage and a single man under a light, strumming a guitar and crooning. Oh. That's what all the commotion was about.

"And now, for our grand finale, the one person who can answer all of Mr Wik's trivia questions will win a band tee with his signature on it!"

Wren rolled her eyes, mentally going "and the crowd goes wild!" in her head while the crowd actually went wild. Along with a couple of her friends. "Wren! Wren, don't you know who that is?"

Turning to the girl who went by Tweet, she responded in a flat tone. "Another boy hell bent on stealing the hearts of thousands so he can pay the bills?"

"Oh my god, Wren! It's WiK! Don't be a spoil sport! He's soooooo cute! You have to look at him! Tell me he's not cute!"

"He's perfectly fine--for being a feelings moocher."

Tweet shook her head. "You don't get it, do you? He used to go to school here."

Wren turned her eyes to her friend. "And? Everyone goes to school in some fashion. There's nothing special about that. But you want to know what is special? Letting all these people believe that they have a chance with him. Hell, even encourages it because that's how he makes money. Sell the belief that you can be with him, and everyone is climbing hand over fist to buy the next new album. Or his Merch, or whatever guitar he says is good. He's an actor and he's playing to the crowd. So if you want to enjoy the fantasy, enjoy it. But don't buy into it, okay? You're smarter than that."

She went on to class, not even taking a second look.

Having been convinced to go out to karaoke (as Tweet sadly, didn't win the shirt), Wren chose the blue halter-top maxi. It was hot out with no sign of relief yet in nighttime Bangkok. Cute and lightweight, she decided to pull her hair up off her neck and frame her face with a few ringlets. Ready for a night on the town, she joined her friends in one of the bar booths, filled with drink and food, they all took turns on the mic, making a bit of a game out of it. When it was Wren's turn, she decided to go with the Disney-themed songs and started her rendition of "Kiss the girl."

It just so happened that she caught sight of said pompous boy in the hall, strolling around the rooms. And there was some eye contact. Deciding to play it up since her friends hadn't noticed yet, she decided to sing to him and tease him as well. "My oh my! Look like the boy too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the girl."

Kim didn't know much about the kitchen or how to cook very much, but he was trying. Somedays it was okay, others not so much. Today was a not so much as he stood in the kitchen of their small apartment the window over the sink open as far as he could get it using a cutting board to try and wave the smoke that was building out the window.

There was some kind of white powder every where, either baking soda or flour most focused on a frying pan that was on the stove top still smoking slightly. He was covered in various mess from whatever he had manged to catch on fire. He was trying to avoid the dreaded smoke detector going off, but as the thing started sounding he cursed and hurried over waving the cutting board at the smoke detector trying to fan smoke away from it. This was not the Sunday morning eggs and pancakes he was going for.

It was about 3 in the morning when a squawk like scream came from the bathroom of their flat that Lucian and Maggie had gotten. it even had a bedroom with no windows at all, up til that moment it was a perfect life they had made.

Maggie came out of the bathroom, the girl had no pants on what so ever and was sporting one of Luc's tee shirts. " Lucian!" panic and bewilderment was abound as she called for him holding a hand full of home tests. " Are you sure that you're type of vampires can't have children the traditional way?" This was fucked. Fucked to hell and back upside down and sideways.
