Visit to Earthmountain!

Having Hawke and Roo around for a year had been awesome. The little estate that they had was well kept, Anu had uncles from his mother's side doting on him, and Kim had grown further out of that cloistered shell his father and imprisoned him in. Repairs to the Theerapanyakul brothers were well on their way to healing and while there was no expected immediate fix to the underworld, there had been marked improvements with Kinn actively seeking out the advice of his brothers from time to time. When Roo and Hawke had returned back to Earthmountain, there had been a legitimate funk around the estates that Wren knew would last for a while, so she started setting up plans to go visit that side of the family for a season. It was more work than usual, considering the animals needed to be cared for as well as Kim's fans, so extra tours needed to happen before going 'off the grid,' so to speak. The plan was to do a quick tour state side with then a hiatus at her parents' home. Of course, there wouldn't be any way to contact them for the fall season so they had to forwarn Kinn about that.

Naturally, Khun was beside himself because he would miss his nibling growing up for three to six months. And no, he wasn't going to go on tour with them.

Once that was all settled, they had to make appearances and fly to California instead of take the simpler and faster route by unicorn. After a tour of performances on the West Coast, it was a quick jaunt to the East Coast for some concerts there and then they could go and relax a couple weeks at the Starfyr estate and give Anu the chance to decompress before moving on to the next leg of their travels.

Wren was all for relaxing at her parents' place even if sleeping arrangements originally going to be cramped. Finding out that her parents had outfitted her room with a larger bed for them made it all the easier. While resting from the whirlwind of concert dates, Wren had the time to adjust their supplies for the mountain and set up the 'calendar' they would need to determine when it was time to go home. As time moved differently between the dimensions, they needed to be aware of when they should return to avoid a mass panic, both by brothers and a fanbase.

"Are you excited? You'll get to see your boyfriends again," Wren murmured smugly as she kept the clothing choices simple and light. No doubt Kim was going to bring his guitar and Wren chose some simple toys for Anu even though she was certain that he would be more than occupied with new sights and sounds and people. "You can impress them all over again with your grasp of the language, too." That was also something they had been working on for the better part of the past two years.

Since Anu was born Kim liked travel less and less. It either meant he would be away from Anu and Wren or they would have to uproot Anu and his routines. This was different though. He hadn't been over joyed in the least to see Roo and Hawke go back home. He had gotten used to having them with him, he had even started opening up about some of the more dark things with them. Not that he didn't want to talk to Wren about things, because he did, it was just those heavy parts he would rather she didn't need to worry about.

Kim for the most part let Wren run the show with travel and where they would be and when. She had more patience for that than he did. He did his fair share of taking provisions, such as shampoos combs and conditioners for Hawke and Roo. There was also some bath salts and some bubbles. He followed Wren's lead on clothing keeping things light. He looked to her with a smirk. " I am sure we will all be happy to see each other. And you with your others too." he said boinging one of her strands of hair.

She smiled brightly as her hair was flicked, eyes glittering. "Yeah, I haven't seen Barnas and Verti since before coming to Bangkok. It's been ages." She didn't have many lovers in the mountain despite how her family functioned. If she thought about it, there were only two additional people, and that only happened in the mountain since they didn't come out of it often. And sleeping before going to the mountain was out of the question for Wren. It had been several years since she'd seen friends from there and no matter how much sleep was needed, it simply would not come.

The next day with everything packed and ready to go, it was merely the need to load up the unicorns and strap Anu to Wren in a traditional carry sling and have Kim's guitar carefully protected, even if he was slinging the case himself. With the amount needed for the toddler, it was better to walk with the unicorns instead of ride in. It was ensured that Wren and Anu were flanked well by the magical creatures considering her 'allergy' to dimension travel and without knowing how Anu would react, it was better to be safe than sorry.

The movement itself was a little dizzying, more like the equilibrium going funky and then suddenly righting itself, leaving one feeling like they had been on a fast spinning amusement park ride. Wren kept one hand on the closest unicorn, looking a little green but her concern was on Kim and Anurak, who had never done this before. "You okay?" She asked as the light shifted to something more intense. In the sky were two suns, one bright yellow and then a smaller red one. Off to the sides could be the shadows of at least two moons, the third not risen yet. Before them lay what appeared to be a very mundane park setting or field that was bordered by a tree line and in the near distance a looming mountain. Past that mountain was the trailing of a range that seemed to curl into the horizon.

Accompanying them on the trip was Ari and Kohl as well and they both seemed very at ease with the shift. They had done it many times before and it was old hat. Anu clung to Wren's clothes, looking at everything with wide eyes, one fist in his mouth. Kohl also looked over to Kim and then eyed the guitar. "Do you want me to take that before you're pounced on?"

Kim didn't get much rest either, he was busy going over things in his mind that he and his family might need while away. Maybe a little nervous about making the trip as well. Not that he was saying as much out loud.

On the actual trip it's self he was left feeling the spins and maybe slightly nauseated himself but not complaining. He was standing there with his face scrunched up almost as if he sucked on a lemon, while his eyes adjusted to the new light. Yeah, that lil bump in things was pretty rude. He fixed his face pretty quickly turning to check on Wren and Anu. " I'm fine, how are you?" bringing his hand up to smooth Anu's hair back and kiss him on the crown of his head.

He looked to Kohl, and gave a little chuckle. " Probably a good idea." he said handing the guitar over and stopping a moment to lift Wren's free hand and kiss her knuckles. Still watching to make sure she was okay.

She smiled at the kiss, then waved him off. "This is normal for me. I'm okay." Her concern was her husband and Anu who had never experienced it before. She did keep her other hand on Lightfoot's hide.

"And I," Ari started, already working the ties on the baby harness, "will take watch over the precious one so when Wren gets clobbered, only one of you is taken out." Used to his grandmother from their time at the home, Anu was already reaching for her, babbling in Thai. With that Ari countered with Faunlyn. "Mama is going to see friends. They can be very big and we want you safe, okay?" She was utterly delighted when Anu murmured his own 'okay' back at her in Faunlyn. "Oh, he's too precious, Whrennah."

"Of course he is!" She responded brightly, "have you seen who made him with me?" Her eyes slid back over to Kim and she spotted something dark just behind his head which prompted her to try and dodge before Roo got both of them in a tackle.

Instead, she was scooped up by something big and very blue with streaks of varying shades of blue and large horns curling like a ram's, her body nearly engulfed by arms and a tail as the blue one lost balance and tipped back onto his back to keep her from being crushed. Wren in turn clung for dear life, her voice silent for the time being.

He smiled at the antics between mother and daughter and grandmother and grandson. Anu was learning both languages so very well. It would be a few years yet before he taught him English. He wanted his son to have an easier time with the three dialects he would need to know through his life.

It felt like a woosh of air that moved to scoop poor Wren off her feet. He seen the big guy about to tumble and tried to reach his hand out to help them not fall, but it was too late. " Timber?" he said lofting a brow. In the excitement with Wren's greeting he missed the notes that his favorite stalker was approaching.

Said stalker was none other than the 'shaddow' and Roo also scooped Kim up with a massive purr and a playful growl as he nuzzled the side of Kim's head for all he was worth. "The Sneak found you," he vibrated with his purr, taking his time before he let go and then started greeting the rest of the family. Kohl was greeted as 'shadow dragon' and Ari as 'mother.' Anu, having a shy streak in him with all the commotion going on, hid in Ari's hair, not realizing who Roo was until he rattled his scales. After that there was a shriek of recognition before Anu tried to fall into Roo's arms. With a triumphant hum, Roo turned to Kim. "Also found the baby."

In that time, Wren finally sat up, wiping at her eyes before smoothing hair away from Barnas' face to plant a kiss on his mouth. "It has been too long." Barnas, unable to speak, simply nodded, biffing the back of her head with the end of his tail. She stood up, reaching for the other's hands. "Come! You have to meet Kim and Anu." Bringing the waterkin to her family, she smiled warmly as there was a quick greeting between Barnas and her parents. "This is my Promised, Kim and our son, Anu." There was no faunlyn word for 'husband' so Promised, the term her parents used for each other, was the descriptor for them. "And this is my First, Barnas."

The familiar grip of his Roo drew a smile from Kim, his arm wrapping around him and hugging him as he nuzzled into his head. " Roo.." he didn't want to let go just yet and placed a kiss to the corner of his mouth. After he did let him go so that anu could get his snuggles on with the shadowkin. " Or did the baby find you?" he said laughing lightly as Anu right away cuddled and started to play with Roo's hair.

His eyes turned to Wren and the big guy with her. Kim held out his hand partly showing his wrist to Barnas as a way to show he ws open to this meeting. He didn't know many customs yet but he would learn. " It's good to meet you." he said with a little grin.

Barnas was considered striking among his people. While the underlay of his scales were blue, they were streaked with lighter and darker shades, patterned with teals and the occasional lavender and the pattern seemed to spill out into his mane of hair as well. His skin tone was a peachy flesh tone that made the blue in his scales stand out more. Smiling, he gripped Kim's forearm with is hand, mindful of the claws against human skin.

"Well met. I am honored to meet the SongSpinner Wrennah fell in love with. I have heard many, many things about you, considering Hawke and Roo..." He let the statement fade with a soft smile as he glanced over to Hawke who was still greeting his parents. "But we can sit and talk better inside than out, yes? Before the shadow burns away in the sun. I don't think your child would like that." Anu was very busy burying himself in Roo's hair, still supported by the young man's hip and arm. One of his favorite games was hiding in Roo's mass of mane and going 'boo!' to anyone close enough to scare.

" I hope I can live up to the things that were said about me. If I know Roo and Hawke they spoke well of me." he said placing a hand over his eyes to look up. " You are right. It took another minute to get everyone on track to go into the mountain. The doorway itself looked more like a grand entrance way into some dwarven kingdom (only the doors were not ornate structures, but the rockface itself.) Beyond that was a treck of tunnels lit by orbs or glowing plants, a chamber of giant, bouncy mushrooms (which put all the trampoline play stops to shame) and eventually they were led out into the main hall which was basically a hollowed out interior with floating rock platforms that paused at different levels of the mountain to give access to holes that led to personal dwellings.

Wren kept to Kim's side, her fingers twined with his. "Pretty special, isn't it? And this is only a third of what's really here." The mountain was MASSIVE, able to hold thousands of people safely. But only the top portions were in use these days. The place was lit almost as brightly as the outside but the orbs that provided light were so high up that they couldn't be seen distinctly. "It's a world within a world, really."

"And these are the living spaces, for the most part," Barnas stated, addressing the holes lined up along the walls. "The ground here is for trade or festivals or the big games the mountain will gather and play. This does not include the springs, orchards, and fields. Shadowkin have their areas deeper in the mountain as they are smaller and more suited for compact burrows."

Wren nodded in agreement. "Hawke usually stays with Barnas, Sohl, Malin and a few others. Their home is closer to ground level. Poe's place," yes, she smirked to herself on that, "Is higher up, mid level. When I was little, that was where we usually stayed. Jalaren is a SongSpinner too, he'd be quite interested in your music." As she became older, she would sleep with Hawke's group on occasion and once in the lower burrows to visit Roo's family group. With a child in tow, her eyes were lingering on the midlevel rises, wanting to be in the place that was most familiar to her.

Sneak reveals a secret

Wren didn't look surprised at all about that revelation. Smirking, she looked back at the man with the hair that looked like it went on and on for weeks. "What, he doesn't think we've bumped uglies before?"

"You are not ugly," Roo admonished with a smirk, nudging her shoulder. He knew the turn of phrase all too well and her teasing was just that: gentle teasing. "I have the feeling that he is more uncertain with what you may consider as proper."

"I agree with that." Being poly was a new thing for Kim and she had curbed most of her appetites so not as to make her husband uncomfortable. Wren definitely didn't want to deal with any new relationships--especially on earth-- but the 'old flames' honored her caution even if it seemed very confusing for them. "Mmhmm. Just how I like it." Grinning, she leaned up against the other's side, taking a moment to drape his hair around her shoulders. "We could dance for him...or would that be placing too much pressure in the moment?"

Roo contemplated that suggestion, humming softly. "I do not know. Do you think he wishes to watch us together or be involved?"

"Anything and everything, I imagine." She looked up towards Roo's jawline, then reached up to run her fingertips along the outline of it. "I bet if you asked sweetly enough, he would tie you up and have his wicked way with you." That had the desired effect. There was a soft rattle as a shiver ran through the Faunlyn's scales and Roo's tail rested heavily around her waist. "That would be a pretty sight...see you all trussed up, whimpering as we both touched you."

A small, ragged purr came from the shadowkin. "When?"

Aha! Gotcha. "Tonight, maybe? Anu's pretty much settled into a routine so getting him to bed shouldn't be a problem. Sha'hira and everyone adore him anyway and they've gotten used to the sweet, squishy grub of my son." None of that was an insult. Being human and scaleless, he was much more prone to injury even if the adults who were accustomed to the fragility of humans were careful.

"I can do tonight." Even though she couldn't physically see it well, she knew his eyes were burning into hers. "I'll even bring the rope."

"Excellent! I can't wait." Wren would make certain their nest was properly prepared with soft blankets, rope and foodstuffs along with drink should they need to recharge. Now the trick was getting everything ready without Kim taking note of too much plotting. And that would be a fun challenge of itself, considering he was always on alert for secrets. However, Wren was happy to note that this would be a fun secret and Kim wouldn't be too put off by it if he was 'blindsided' by the turn of events. And just for this special date, Wren was going to be showing more skin than she normally did, just to tempt them for a few hours. Her outfit was a modified Faunlyn outfit with a tight bodice band and an almost see through swishy type skirt that if she did swish it around high enough, would show nothing obscuring underneath. Wren was certain she was going to capture more than the attention of just the two men she was focused on today, and that only ensured that everyone else would be hoping for encores later.

To Kim this whole place was like a world that he would read about in story books, or see in some elaborate fantasy film. He was fascinated by the visuals and how each part seemed as though it were hand carved. Maybe it was? He wasn't sure but for the moment Kim was his usual reserved and quiet, listening as the conversation went on.

" A song spinner huh?" he said smiling as if it was some fancy nick name given. " Once everything is settled I am sure we can work something out." he turned his eyes to his wife. " I am sure that you will want some time with Barnas since it has been so long, and Granny and Grandpa will want to show Anu all the fun stuff here."

Kim too had gotten settled into routine, the place was really beautiful and getting a peek at where Wren had spent so much time was a delight. He wasn't much bothered by so much skin and scale being on display all the time, thanks to Hawke and Roo being in his life he was well aware of the attire here.

Currently Kim was seated in the area in which they had been staying, strumming out a tune as he wrote down lyrics. He was doing what he did best, song spinning. The biggest challenge had been keeping Anu corralled while settling into the temporary quarters in Poe's area. "I'm not cleaning it up if he gets sick from hanging upside down that long," she countered, waving as Anu waved at her, calling out 'mama.' Her eyes went to Kim, rolling them in false exasperation as if to say, I still love my family, even if they frustrate me.

"We do have everything under control, you know," Ari interjected, looking pointedly at both Wren and Kim. "I'm sure you're both itching to reunite with a few others, around here." Barnas, who had been speaking with Kohl, flicked his ear but seemed to make no other movement to indicate he was listening in.

Of course he was composing! The mountain seemed to have a muse effect for him and she couldn't wait to hear what had inspired him. Perhaps a whole album of folky tunes from long ago? Smiling sweetly, she tilted her head coyly. "Hello, my love. We're planning something special and hope you would join us."

Though quiet for the moment a small smile played along his lips as he watched Anu with his extended family. If it seemed the kiddo was getting to be too much for the others he would step in, but until then he was enjoying watching his boy play.

The pair vacated to parts unknown, which left Hawke looking at Kim, eying him up. Roo would have done the same but there was a child crawling all over him, giggling incesently. "This is your first time here," he drawled, smile bright an innocent but heated gaze not, "there is much to explore. There are markets. There are orchards and farming lands. There are pools, heated and not, for swimming and other things."
